I did not grow up wanting to be a writer. I did not grow up at all. 

When I was a kid I wanted to be my dad. But that job was taken, so I went to war instead. I wrote a book about those wars. 

I fought long and hard and mostly against myself. And so I wrote another book about that, my fiercest battle. I traveled across the world visiting dozens of countries, and that too I wrote. When I became a father time became scarce and emotions ran high, my words died, and were reborn as poems.
